Experience enchanting cinematic moments from movies by acclaimed animation house Studio Ghibli as the MPO performs unforgettable tunes from classics including My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service and Howl's Moving Castle. 

The breathtaking visuals from award-winning productions such as Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke are given the well-deserved, orchestral interpretations under conductor Gerard Salonga. The tunes will evoke priceless memories from unforgettable storylines within the multitude of universes they come from, 'live' on stage!

MPO Benefit Concert: Resonance for a Reason

For the first time in its history, the MPO brings some of the country’s outstanding performers on the DFP stage for an unprecedented benefit concert, set to inspire the audience with its unmistakable finesse.

Join the MPO, together with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO), in a noble cause towards shaping a better music future for Malaysia. Your contribution will support the MPO’s Music Talent Development programme in nurturing local talents, engaging audience in a diverse selection of performances and inspiring hope through the love of music.

Together, let’s do our part in cultivating talents, championing diversity within our musical community and making a positive impact on society. All contributions are tax-exempted.

Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert (MPO, Malaysia)

Malaysia is currently the only stop outside of the US to hold the 'Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert' tour.

The series will be brought to life by The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra on September 14 at the Petronas Twin Towers, with a two-hour recap on a cinema screen.

The concert includes traditional instruments like taiko drums and erhu.

The projection will show Aang’s journey from the iceberg to the showdown with Fire Lord Ozai.

MPO says visitors are encouraged to dress in Avatar cosplay, but weapon props are not allowed.
