Yuna Ikon Seni Malaysia Merdeka 55 (Ikon Seni Budaya Negara)

Tahniah buat penyanyi kebanggaan Malaysia, Yuna Zarai yang telah dianugerahkan dengan Anugerah Ikon Seni Negara ( Ikon Anak Seni ) sempena Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia yang ke-55 di Himpunan Janji Ditepati yang berlangsung di Stadium Bukit Jalil pada 31 Ogos 2012 .

"Saya ingin berpesan kepada remaja di luar sana kalau anda ada bakat, kemahiran dan cita-cita, teruskan dan fokus serta bekerja keras dan sentiasa berhubung dengan kedua ibu bapa, agama dan Allah. InsyaAllah semuanya akan berjalan lancar," katanya. Yuna berkata erti kemerdekaan baginya ialah bersyukur dengan nikmat keamanan negara yang dikecapi sejak 55 tahun lepas.

Selain Yuna, penerima anugerah lain bagi bidang sukan ialah, Ratu terjun negara Pandelela Rinong , 19, pemain badminton Datuk Lee Chong Wei dan pemain skuasy nombor satu dunia Datuk Nicol Ann David manakala penerima anugerah generasi muda kategori belia, Muhammad Zhariff Afandi, 29, turut menerima anugerah itu yang disampaikan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Pandelela turut berharap supaya lebih ramai generasi muda menceburkan diri dalam bidang sukan kerana ia mempunyai kebaikan dan menyihatkan badan.

Bagi Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU), Muhammad Zhariff Afandi, 29, yang lahir tanpa kedua-dua tangan, berkata pencapaiannya sebagai Ikon Generasi Muda ialah satu kebanggaan dalam melaksanakan tanggungjawab sebagai rakyat Malaysia.

Selain itu, tiga penerima anugerah pencapaian cemerlang sepanjang zaman yang disampaikan Perdana Menteri ialah bekas pemain bola sepak Wong Chye Fook@James Alan Wong (Sabah), Tan Sri Dr Wong Soon Kai (Sarawak) dan Datuk Profesor Dr Asmah Omar (Semenanjung).
